The School Board will meet on Monday, November 28, 2022 in the Eisenhower Middle High School Learning Commons. It will begin at 6pm with a closed session, followed by the open session at around 7pm. Enter the school through the cafeteria entrance, proceed to the hallway just before the gym, turn right, and walk to the Commons near the end of the hall.

The meetings are usually broadcast live on the District's YouTube channel. While this does not allow you to participate in person, or see the Board members up close or talk to them before or after the meeting, it's better than not having any information from the meeting at all. It's often interesting to see their body language and who is using their phones during discussions and presentations, which can't be seen on the video due to the low resolution of the video and the camera angle. You can hear them, however (as long as they remember to turn on their microphones), and their tone of voice can be informational.

The open enrollment discussion should be interesting. Board member Krislyn Holaday-Wondrachek has long been a proponent of expanding our open enrollment seats, but a majority of the Board has been opposed. While much focus is placed upon the number of students that the School District of New Berlin allows in, it would be nice if there would be more recognition of and discussion about how many students are open-enrolling out of the District to other schools. Those students represent a net loss of revenue for the District if they outnumber the students coming in from other districts. Now that there is an overwhelming majority that will likely act in lock-step, it wouldn't be a surprise if the number of open enrollment seats is curtailed as much as they can while still fulfilling existing commitments.
