A summary of the School Board meeting held Feb 27, 2023.
A summary of the School Board meeting held May 23, 2022. It was at Elmwood Elementary School, which included a school presentation and a tour of the facility. Teachers were recognized for being awarded Herb Kohl Fellowships and there was further discussion of ESSER funds.
A summary of the School Board meeting held May 9, 2022. It was at Orchard Lane Elementary School, which included a school presentation and a tour of the facility. Committee members and chairs were appointed, and the status of ESSER funding was discussed.
A summary of the School Board meeting held April 25, 2022. Three Board members took the oath of office, Board elections were held, and an update presentation for Ronald Reagan Elementary was given.
At the February 22, 2021 School Board Meeting, a "Long-Range Facility Planning" presentation was given by Superintendent Joe Garza. Read the transcript of my presentation regarding this subject during the "Privilege of the Floor" period at the beginning of the meeting (before the presentation was given).
The February 22, 2021 School Board meeting included a presentation by Superintendent Joe Garza titled "Diversity and Inclusion in SDNB" which was presumably a response to a petition sent to the Board June 8, 2020 signed by 1,258 alumni, current students, family members, and former members of faculty to address curriculum changes, training, and outreach to improve diversity, equity, and inclusion.
At the March 8, 2021 School Board meeting, another presentation was given on the Long-Range Plan, which included a proposal to allocate additional funds to the Long-Range Plan by using the fund balance.

The School Board will be meeting at Eisenhower Middle High School June 13, 2022 at 7pm. Preceding that meeting will be a workshop for Board members regarding Robert's Rules of Order and other topic pertaining to being a well-functioning Board member.
The Board of Education will be meeting at Elmwood Elementary, 5900 S. Sunny Slope Road, in the school library. It will begin at 6:45 with a closed session, followed by the open session at around 7pm. Find the agenda and other useful links.
At the July 20, 2020 meeting of the School Board, the School District of New Berlin has approved two plans for students for the school year beginning in Fall 2020. Find out what options are being considered, and find resources to help make the best possible decision for your student.
On September 4, 2019, the School Board held a special meeting to receive a consultant's presentation about the financial facts surrounding two options being considered. Both involve closing schools.
